LIVINGSTON – A 14-year-old Livingston student was being held in a juvenile detention facility after being taken into custody by the Livingston Police Department about 1 a.m. Tuesday on a felony terroristic threat charge.
The juvenile is accused of posting a message on social media to another student that read “don’t go to school tomorrow i’m going to shoot up the shool” which he subsequently identified as Livingston High School.
According to a statement issued by the Livingston Police Department, at 8:34 p.m. Monday a local school student notified investigators about the threat, which had been made by a person identifying himself as “Larry Brown” on his Facebook page. LPD Detective Marty Drake confirmed that the name “Larry Brown” was fictitious.
An image of a scary clown also appeared on the “Larry Brown” page. In recent weeks, scary clown images have been used in threatening messages on social media and reports from around the country indicate people have been dressing in such costumes in an effort to terrorize children.
