LIVINGSTON - The SPCA of Polk County will host an “Inde-pet-dence Day” grand opening of their new doggie playground from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at their shelter, 802 S. Houston Street (Hwy. 146 S) in Livingston.
The doggie playground will be available for the exclusive use of SPCA members and will have security lights, a double-gated entry, four watering stations and electric outlets near each of four park benches where pet owners can watch their pets play or run the “doggie obstacle course.”
Among the activities planned for the event include food, carriage rides, a puppy kissing booth, discounted adoption fees of $25 for long-term canine residents and a raffle drawing. For information call Executive Director Carl Feren at 936-933-6888.
